It would be hard for any plater to be unaware of the pressure to reduce the use of hexavalent chromium. But the issue refuses to go away and promises to have profound effects on our industry—not just for chrome plating shops but for those who use chromate conversion coatings as well. So we start this month with a discussion of European pressures towards reduction of use of hexavalent chromium on automobiles.
