As part of a developing co-operation between the Society and the Worshipful Company of Engineers, Chief Executive Professor Raymond Clark OBE, was recently admitted to the Worshipful Company as a Liveryman. Society President Patrick McHugh is already a Liveryman with strong links to the Engineers' Company. Formed in June 1983 the Worshipful Company of Engineers' main objective is to "afford the means of professional and social intercourse and mutual information between its members, those who practise engineering and those who benefit therefrom, so as to promote the development and advancement of the science, art and practice of engineering in the City of London and elsewhere".
