Buffer-soluble proteins from 10 isolates ofVerticillium dahliaeand 22 isolates ofV. albo-atrumwere separated by acrylamide gel-electrophoresis. Isolates within a species produced essentially identical patterns butV. dahliaepatterns were distinctly different from those ofV. albo-atrum. These results support the view thatV. dahliaeandV. albo-atrumshould be considered as separate species.
