Junkers Ju 52/3m 'D-AQUI'/ D-CDLH of the Deutsche Lufthansa Berlin-Stiftung (see Aeroplane June 2015) has been grounded for an indefinite period due to a fuselage centre spar fracture. This occurred towards the end of its 2015 flying season, which was terminated prematurely as a result. According to a statement from the DLBS, the "very costly and time-consuming repairs" necessary to rectify the problem mean that it is not currently possible to say when the Ju 52 will take to the air again. Certain, though, is that D-CDLH will not be ready to begin flying in April or May of this year, the usual start of its pleasure-flying schedule.
