The queueing analysis for personal communication service (PCS) network which provides low power, high quality access for subscribers to the public switched network (PSTN), is presented in this paper. The fixed channel assignment strategies for hand-off calls are considered. An analytically tractable Markov model to evaluate forced termination probability for the system with finite buffer capacity is developed. We consider nonpriority and FIFO model with and without guard channels. Finite population model is also studied. The queue size distribution and blocking probability of originating calls are determined.
