ABSTRACT:Injuries represent the leading cause of death for children older than age one. Likewise, some 22 million children are injured each year, with more than 1 million requiring medical treatment. More than 40 of children currently receive full‐time or part‐time day care, but little research has examined the status of injuries to children in daycare. This paper provides information on the nature and extent of injuries to children, and contributing factors responsible for those injuries.
