The immune response of outbred guinea pigs injected with SRBC in Freundrsquo;s complete adjuvant was characterized using several parameters which included cutaneous hypersensitivity, humoral hemagglutinin levels, and the capacity of PE cells to migrate in vitro in the presence of specific antigen. Two of these parameters were used to assess the effects of heterologous antiserum IgG (ALS, AMS and ATS) on the immune response. ALS, ATS and, to a lesser extent, AMS were capable of significantly suppressing delayed-type but not immediate-type hypersensitivity or humoral antibody production.
