We report the observation of alternate oscillations between two counter-propagating components of two modes in AlGaAs/GaAs SQW quasi-stadium ring laser diodes (QSML). All signals were directly obtained from the emitted lights without using waveguide. We showed that oscillatory behavior in QSML can be well explained by the mode interactions of two different cavity modes. We also showed the mode-pulling and pushing effect can be explained by changing of interaction strength caused by closing and receding of pumping gain center. We expect the oscillatory behavior is useful to understand and develop the ring laser gyro, optical memory and other all-optical devices
