Laser Sintering of UltraPure SiO{sub}2 Crucibles

摘要

The present work introduces the laser sintering as a novel and cost-effective production process for ultrapure quartz glass crucibles. By employing CO{sub}2 laser systems, providing a power output of up to 12kW, large SiO{sub}2 crucible preforms are sintered to graded structures with no contamination and without any change in geometry.
