Floral induction inLemna perpusillaandL. gibbawas determined under continuous irradiation with monochromatic light in spectral ranges from 396 to 765 nm. In the former it was induced under wavelengths from about 400 to 550 nm and longer than 700 nm, while in the latter with wavelengths near 400 nm and from about 550 to 650 nm. The patterns of these spectral dependences were nearly mirror images and corresponded to the Pfrlevel in the photostationary states of phytochrome.
