摘要

A new digital satellite broadcasting service started in the year 2000. It provides high quality services, like digital Hi-Vision TV services, and multi-media data broadcastings. The technical standard for the transmission system developed in Japan was approved in ITU-R Recommendation as ISDB-S. The system provide a large capacity sufficient to transmit two digital Hi-Vision TV programs on one satellite channel, and it can also handle multiple PSK modulation schemes, and multiple MPEG-TS transmission signals. On the other hand, utilization of 21GHz band in the satellite broadcasting is expected to realize for future next services. Various technologies to overcome deep rain attenuation should be developed, to use the 21GHz band carriers for stable satellite broadcasting reception. This paper describes the outline of BS digital transmission system mentioned above, and the discussion of the 21GHz transmission technologies.
