With increasing mobile terminals, the Wireless Multihop LAN (WMLAN) has been proposed as a new communication system. This network uses the access points (APs) and adopts the wireless multihop of the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) between APs. One of its features is the high ability of reconstructing the network when APs are added and replaced. Wireless LAN of the standard IEEE802.11 supports multiple channels, and we need to assign channels for APs without the interference from the neighbor channels. In this paper, we propose a channel assignment algorithm and evaluate its performance by computer simulation.
