lndium-111 Labeled Leukocyte Imaging in the Diagnosis and Follow-Up of Malignant Otitis Externa

ln-111 labeled autologous leukocyte imaging was performed on a patient with the clinical diagnosis of malignant otitis externa. This procedure is known to have a high sensitivity (up to 90percnt;) for detecting infection and is of value in post-treatment follow-up, correlating well with the clinical resolution of the disease. Tc-99m HDP bone images remained positive well beyond the clinical resolution of the disease.
