Osteomalacia, regardless of the cause, is radiographically diagnosed by a combination of demineralization, a coarsening of the trabecular pattern and the presence of pseudo-fractures, the latter in the absence of the characteristic skeletal changes of Paget's disease, fibrous dysplasia or osteogenesis imperfecta. This report concerns a case of osteomalacia wherein the overall scintigraphic pattern suggested skeletal metastases.
