Durinp the week of October 3, 1999, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 178 meetings were hosted by the Association Francaise de Normaliscion (AFNOR) and the TC 178 Committee Secretariat at La Defense in Paris, France. While the weather during the week brought quite pleasant temperatures with little rain for the 58 national standards committee delegates from 17 countries that attended the meetings, there was little time other than during the evening to enjoy the beautiful city of Paris.
