The construction of a single wire unbalanced Archimedian spiral antenna is described. The experimentally observed characteristics of the antenna indicate that the antenna has a pattern and impedance bandwidth of approximately 1#x2013;5. The axial ratio of the radiation along the axis is constant (approximately 2 or less) over a frequency band of 1#x2013;2.
