AbstractThe product of 1‐decene oligomerization with AlCl3as catalyst was fractionated by vacuum distillation, with the highest fraction consisting predominantly of the hexamer. The structure of the fractions was characterized by1H and13C NMR and Raman spectroscopy. The oligomers contain predominantly long branches (7 carbons and longer) and always one double bond per molecule, with strong predominance of tri‐ and tetra‐substituted types. The minority structures are analyzed, and the polymerization and isomerization mechanisms are disc
