Ugolino di Tedice called Maestro di San Martino was an Italian painter who worked in Pisa in the 2nd half of the 13th century. He worked mostly before Cimabue in Pisa and he was a leader who contributed to the renewal of Byzantine painting, anticipating the classic Christian-painting. This image is a detail of a panel called the "Madonna with Child" that is kept in the church of San Biagio in Pisa, in the resort of Cisanello just behind the Department of Endocrinology of the Cisanello University Hospital and portrays the child with a large diffuse goiter.
