Prolonged heating (several days) of (CH3NPF3)2in a sealed tube yields a crystalline product having the same composition as the liquid starting material. By CCl4-extraction of this material the tetrameric compound (CH3NPF3)4can be isolated. The residue is the ionic compound (CH3N)4P3F6+PF6−. Vacuum sublimation of this product yields (CH3N)4P3F
