paraThe demand for specialist cleanroom facilities are gathering pace as nanotechnology takes off. Cleanrooms serve two functions: controlling particulate levels and acting as barrier to micro-organism contamination. The facility features include a laminar air flow which ensures that the entire volume of air within the structure changes 150-240 times per hour, high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter units which are 99.9 efficient in removing particles of 0.3μm and larger and a Denco air conditioning system which control room temperature and humidity. Lighting levels are maintained at 500-700 Lux which have no ledges that could trap dust. A HEPA filter and fan system counters air movements created by people moving in the room themselves.
