摘要

We have proposed the sample-based retrieval method in order to retrieve software component in terms of their specification. We have developed Visual Basic (VB) function retrieval system as an application of the proposed method. In this paper, we evaluate the VB function retrieval system. 75 functions out of 164 standard VB functions can be stored in the system. We then examine element dictionary which is the basis of sample construction to identify the system registered functions. The element dictionary size is not affected by the order of function addition to the system. Finally we evaluate various user support mechanism of the system. 57 functions cannot be identified without I/O values. Sample size to identify a function is 15 (max) and 2.8 (average) by using the user support mechanism.
