For a while I had been noticing sales being offered in newspaper ads for a variety of toy radio controlled airplanes. When I could no longer resist the urge of curiosity, I stopped at the local toy store to see what might be available. Only one item was at a reduced price, but it wasn't really an airplane; it was the AirHogs Mini Storm Launcher. To me it looked like a racing hydroplane, but it could be run on the ground as a car or flown as an airplane. I turned away without even considering its purchase. Several steps away it dawned on me that it could be a real bargain. It had a transmitter, receiver, flight battery and two electric motors with propellers to provide differential thrust control. I bought it.
