A vertical/horizontal polarization diversity corner reflector antenna which has 120° beamwidth in the horizontal plane is developed. Until now, horizontally polarized corner reflector anntena which has wide beamwidth in the horizontal plane is a difficult theme. We proposed a coner reflector antenna using C-type dipole element C-type dipole element with near parasitic element has wide input immpedance characteristics. In this paper we first described characteristics of the C-type element. Then by using the element we designed various horizontally polarlized corner reflector antennas which have 90°, 120° and 180° beamwidth in the horizontal plane. By using above technique a vertical/horizontal polarization diversity vertical army antenna for the IMT2000 system was realized.
