Despite a period of fairly subdued activity, freight levels in most sectors of the freight market have remained relatively stable, with no major fluctuations recorded, over the last few weeks. In the Atlantic coal and ore trades, the -Capesize units were moderately active, I enabling Owners to continue achieving reasonable returns. The "Marvellous" was fixed for 137,000 tons coal Hampton Roads and Richards Bay/Pohang, 19 July/2 August, at 14.18 mt dollars basis 7 days shine,-'and the "Achileus" fixed 150,000 tons iron ore Sepetiba/Rotterdam and Antwerp, end July/early August, at 8.00 mt dollars basis six days shine. On a timecharter basis, recent fixtures included the 1990 built 149,000 tdw "Cape Asia" delivery Money Point, July, for a trip Hampton Roads and Richards Bay redelivery Japan at 25,000 dollars daily and Pan Ocean fixed the 1985 built 140,000 tdw "Nord Sea" delivery passing Cape Passero, 20/30 July, for five to seven months trading at 20,500 dollars daily.
