摘要

Miscanthus culms and particles were tested for their retention behaviour of water and acetone. Results gave a consistent picture being in perfect agreement with earlier studies. Increased specific particle surfaces increase the amount of mobile phase held back. Particles show higher polarity compared to chips, as more hydrophilic surfaces are created as the portion of the non-polar miscanthus culm surfaces decreases. Different mobile phases can be selected according to specific test requirements. In future, this method should prove its suitability in an industrial environment.
