Edward P. Richardson, Jr. spent almost his entire professional career at the Harvard Medical School. In this interview, he reflects on his education and early experiences in neuropathology and on the lifelong fascination of morphologic studies on brain diseases. He also gives testimony to the importance growing into the discipline in the stimulating environment of great academic teachers and clinicians.
