Chaetomium sinaiensesp.nov. is described and illustrated from Egyptian soil. It is characterized by undulate, articulate, smooth to finely verrucose ascomatal hairs, clavate asci, large, broadly fusiform, biapiculate ascospores, 20ndash;22ensp;times;ensp;16ndash;18ensp;mu;m, each with a single, mostly subapical, protuberant germ pore. A brief comparison with morphologically related species is included.
