Aluminum Finishing System Offers Cost Savings for Aluminum Intensive Vehicle Manufacturing

摘要

The main conclusion of this study is that one of the selected primer/surfac-ers combined with two of the three nonchrome pretreatments under evaluation provided overall adhesion, corrosion, appearance, and stone chip results equivalent to conventional phosphating and electrocoating; therefore, from a technical viewpoint, there is the potential for eliminating phosphating and electrocoating for aluminum intensive vehicles, hence reduced finishing costs.
