Consumption of bentonite for oilfield applications,which accounts for at least 60% of drilling grade bentonite produced,pivots on the oil and gas industry.With demand for natural gas growing and oil production declining,energy companies have been wringing oil fields for more production from known fields and also been hunting for new sources of fuel.As a result,oilfield and related bentonite products have seen a welcome return to healthy sales volumes.
