Brazilian state-controlled Petrobras has not had recent contact with PdV regarding the Venezuelan state-owned company’s proposed 40pc stake in the new 230,000 b/d Abreu e Lima refinery, the company’s downstream director Jose Carlos Cosenza said this week. Petrobras’ last contact with PdV was in late February, when a planned meeting between the two companies to finalize PdV’s financial commitment was disrupted by the declining health and subsequent death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
