Adolescent Sports Medicinecolon; Changing Patterns of Injury in the Young Athlete

Summarycolon;Injury patterns in the young athlete are changing. This can be recognized by epidemiological information, the emergence of injuries previously not seen in this age group, and treatment methods more appropriate for the sports active adolescent. An outline of the current pattern of injuries in this age group is presented as well as some examples to illustrate new types of injuries and their treatment.
