ABSTRACTIrrigation is becoming an accepted means of effluent treatment and disposal in New Zealand Effluent irrigation can provide effective effluent treatment and nutrient recovery in crops. It avoids discharge directly to waterways and is, therefore, generally, culturally acceptable to Maori.
