The Cerambycidae Recording Scheme has been running since 1982. The Biological Records Centre (BRC) is currently working with Coleoptera recording scheme organisers to support recording scheme activity. The previous organisers of the Cerambycidae scheme, Dr Martin Rejzek and Peter Hodge, wished to hand the scheme on to new organisers, and WJH and KP were keen to become involved. Following discussion with BRC and other scheme organisers, they have taken on the organiser role for cerambycids, as announced at the annual coleopterist meeting at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History in February 2016. Since taking on the scheme, it was decided to make this family of beetles more accessible to a larger audience, firstly by changing the name to the National Longhorn Beetle Recording Scheme.
