HPCL expands coke production

India’s state-controlled refiner Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) plans to build a coker at its proposed refinery in the desert state of Rajasthan, which market sources say will eventually have a petroleum coke production capacity of 1mn t/yr. HPCL is planning to build a coker at its 180,000 b/d proposed refinery in Barmer, Rajasthan, even after the state government slashed incentives it was providing to the project.
