The Normal Vibrations and the Isotope Effect of Molecules of the TypeX2YNwith anNhyphen;Fold Axis of Symmetry

摘要

In the present study it is assumed that theYatoms are at the corners of a regular polygon and theXatoms are symmetrically situated on theNhyphen;fold axis of symmetry. The frequencies are calculated in terms of the parameters of a general quadratic potential energy form, the masses, and the geometrical constants of the figure. Frequency shifts due to isotopes are also calculated.
