Creating National Institution to Support Medical Research

While making joint efforts to combat the SARS wreaking havoc in this country and around the world, Chinese scientists call for further strengthening China's medical research. In a report presented to the State Council on April 22, 22 CAS members from different research organizations in the field of life sciences urge the central authorities to set up a national institution to consolidate and finance the country's medical and health research efforts under different jurisdictions.
