Coherent Raman scattering is a nonlinear optical process that generates enhanced Raman signal by several orders of magnitude over spontaneous Raman scattering. The signal enhancement has made possible high-speed label- free biomedical imaging based on the vibrational signature of molecules. This short review introduces broadband, high-speed coherent Raman spectroscopy. Rapid-scan Fourier-transform coherent Raman spectroscopy and dual- comb coherent Raman spectroscopy have drastically shorten the acquisition time to take a broadband Raman spectrum. The high-speed and broadband coherent Raman spectroscopy promise significant improvements on the throughput of biomedical diagnosis such as large-area microscopy and flow cytometry.
