Surface Quality Impact of Cleaning Systems

The preparation of an aluminum surface for anodic or chemical conversion coatings is less stringent than the preparation of a surface for plating, and the degreasing step is, therefore, more critical to the quality of the final product. Degreasing is normally followed only by immersion in a dilute alkaline cleaner and one or more stages of pickling.
