Complexes of cyclobutane -(CBCH), cyclohexane-(CHCH), cycloheptane-(CHPCH) carboxylic acid hydrazides and cyclopentaneacetic-(CPAH), cyclohexaneacetic-(CHAH) and cyclohexanebutyric-(CHBH) acid hydrazides with M(II) nitrates (M = Co, Ni and Cu) have been synthesized. They were characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic and spectral (visible and infrared) studies. The cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes assume an octahedral geometry whereas the copper(II) complexes are probably square planar. The ligands are bidentate and the nitrate ions are likely in the outer coordination sphere.
