During July 2010, the total quantum of mulberry raw silk transaction at silk exchanges of Karnataka indicated a decrease of 8.3 and increase of 9.4 in quantity, and increase of 24.0 and 14.8 in value as compared to July 2009 and June 2010, respectively. Among all varieties, transaction of filature/cottage basin was 71.3 followed by charka 18.1 and dupion 10.6 During April-July period of the year 2010-11, total quantum of transaction of raw silk indicated a decrease of 9.2 in quantity, however an increase of 16.1 in value as compared to corresponding period of the previous year.
