Leadership in healthcare has been prioritised in recent years, following the Francis report it is now actively promoted in post graduate training as being everyone's responsibility. Leading grassroots innovation is a challenging task in a traditional organisational model. This article looks at how the rise in the use of social media to discuss professional issues has acted as a leveler, and how the NHS leadership model and social media can enhance personal leadership qualities and facilitate how all doctors can influence healthcare delivery.
