The suitability of contrast agents as the indicator material for roentgen dyedilution techniques (specifically, television fluorodensitometry) is presented. Experimental data and mathematical analyses are presented which demonstrate that a simple linear plot of the densitometric pulse obtained from the oscilloscope vs. the per cent concentration of the contrast material provides accurate calibration curves that are acceptably linear within the suggested range of concentrations. The suggested technique eliminates the necessity for complete calibration curves and allows a simple two-point linear plot to be used.
