Characteristic IR and Electronic Spectral Studies on Novel Mixed Ligand Complexes of Copper(II) with Thiosemicarbazones and Heterocyclic Bases

摘要

Six new mixed ligand complexes of copper(II) with tridentate o-vanillin thiosemicarbazone (o-VTSC) or o-vanillin-4-phenylthiosemicarbazone (o-VPTSC) and a heterocyclic base bipy, phen or py have been synthesized and characterized. The chelating behaviour of the ligands and the gemoetry of the complexes are discussed in the light of spectroscopic, thermal, conductance and magnetic studies.
