When confronted with 'challenging behaviour' in my children, I have one main strategy. A strategy that is both soothing and effective: I like to read child rearing manuals. Cina Ford, The Baby Whisperer, The Incredible Years, Toddler Taming... I have read them all. And the magic thing is, that by the time you've finished reading the book, the child has stopped urinating in flower pots, screaming whenever you turn on a tap or waking at 3 am every morning (insert an antisocial habit of your choice). You never know if it was down to the good advice you read or simply that the child has grown up a little, and the truth is, it doesn't matter; problem sorted.
