Faults in fire extinguishers

AbstractSpecimens of dry powder, halogenated hydrocarobon and carbon dioxide extinguishers manufactured in 1972 were tested in that year as part of a monitoring scheme for fire extinguishers. Leakages and faults which prevented an extinguisher operating or might lead to it being discarded in a emergency are listed, and some of the other defects which were encountered are noted.
