JEITA Sees Fast-Paced Growth of Flat-Panel TVs

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) expects demand for TVs will continue to grow despite the impact of the economic downturn, with demand for flat-panel TVs alone will surpass 190 million units in 2013. In its compilation of global demand forecasts for main audio-video (A/V) products through 2013, JEITA says that in 2008, demand for flat-panel TVs surpassed 50 percent of the previous year, reaching the 100 million mark.
