Highly Vascular Breast Cancer Detected on a Tc-99m RBC Gated Cardiac Blood Pool Imaging Study

In addition to evaluating primary disease, radionuclide studies often provide additional useful information. In this report, the authors describe a woman with stage 3 breast cancer of her left breast, in whom a large focal area of blood pool activity was observed on a Tc-99m RBC gated cardiac blood pool imaging study (MUGA). This corresponded to the biopsy-proved infiltrating ductal breast carcinoma.
