SummaryThe peculiar blood group “system” that includes what may be called the “Donna” antigen and the corresponding “anti‐Donna” antibody (for lack of a more specific name) has defied detailed analysis for several years.The antibody may be found in the incomplete form in a small proportion of otherwise specific sera such as anti‐K, anti‐E, anti‐e, etc., and it reacts best by the indirect Coombs' method and with fresh “Donna” positive cells.The antigen is difficult to detect by presently known methods, and family studies often produce doubtful results in regard to the inheritance of the “Donna” gene. In these cases that we have investigated locally, this incomplete antibody has caused no adverse clinical effect.RésuméLe système de groupe sanguin bizarre qui comprend ee que l'on appelle l'antigène « Donna » et l'anticorps correspondant « anti‐Donna » (par suite de l'absence d'une dénomination plus spécifique) a défié toute analyse précise pendant plusieurs années.L'anticorps peut être trouvé sous une forme incomplète dans une petite proportion d'autres anti‐sérums spécifiques tels que anti‐K, anti‐E, anti‐e, etc. et donner les meilleures réactions avec la méthode indirecte de Coombs et en présence d'érythrocytes frais « Donna » positifs.L'antigène est difficile à mettre en évidence par les méthodes actuellement connues, et les études de familles donnent souvent des résultats douteux quant au mode héréditaire de l'antigène « Donna ».
