Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy

摘要

The present paper reports on a case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, with certain particularities. It was not associated with any chronic illness, but developed as a primary disease in a 26-year-old male, without psychical disturbances. The duration of survival was 1 month. Different pathogenic hypotheses are discussed with particular emphasis on the viral hypothesis.
