The New Zealand subsidiary of General Cable Corporation has acquired the shares of Brand-Rex Pty Limited, a supplier of data communications cables in Australia, from UK-based Novar.Commenting to Wire Industry on the move, Gregory Kenny, President and CEO of General Cable, said: "We expect the acquisition to add 10 US dollars to 15 million in new revenues, solidify our position in Australia, and nicely leverage the data-communications cable manufacturing equipment we recently acquired from Southwire."
